As the new sensation, Zhen Zhu, toured Eastern China, excited fans gathered everywhere hoping to catch a glimpse of her. Wherever she appeared, large groups of loyal fans surrounded her and her companions. This was Zhen Zhu's first appearance in this area, and it was eagerly awaited. Her current two-week tour started Huai'an City, and continued to Nanjing and Beijing.
Zhen Zhu was accompanied by her bodyguards Andy and Jim, who protected her when the crowds became particularly unruly and boisterous. As many as fifty at one time crowded around Zhen Zhu, making it nearly impossible to make headway. Often the surrounding fans burst out into applause, giving her the "thumbs up" gesture of approval and good luck.
Although attempts were made to disguise Zhen Zhu with hats and scarves, she was usually recognized when she ventured out in public. People smiled, then burst out into laughter with the delight of suddenly recognizing her. They rushed over, waving and grinning, often receiving a beaming smile and an acknowledgement back from Zhen Zhu.
On tour with Zhen Zhu were Feng, Dan, Yuan, and Qun, who also received a great deal of attention from fans. At times the crowds were so thick that the entourage could not move, and the bodyguards had to clear a path. Each of the tour members were quickly ushered into their waiting vehicles, as they gave smiles and waves back to the adoring crowds.
Cherry Zhang, tour organizer and manager was asked about a repeat tour in the near future. She wanted to assure the public that Zhen Zhu always would keep her loyal fans in mind. However, Zhen Zhu had many obligations in the next few years, and her next appearance in this area may be eight or nine years in the future. Ms. Zhang made the announcement that an extensive tour in Canada is forthcoming in the near future.
